Last updated: October 19, 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

The websites publications.franssa.com, software-motivation.franssa.com, human-motivation.franssa.com, ai-in-education.franssa.com and incubation-startups.franssa.com are run by César França, as an individual, in Recife, Brazil, who is the controller of the personal data they collect. For anything about your data, use the contact form at the end of this page.

What we collect and why

  • Book request: name, e-mail, WhatsApp (optional), country, profession, language and the requested book. We use it to send you the download link and to understand who reads the books. Legal basis: fulfilling your request (LGPD, art. 7, V; GDPR, art. 6(1)(b)).
  • News from the author by e-mail: only if you tick that option on the form. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: consent (LGPD, art. 7, I; GDPR, art. 6(1)(a)).
  • Testimonials: name, role, institution, website and text. If approved, the testimonial is published on the book’s website with your name, role and institution. Legal basis: consent.
  • Contact: name, e-mail, WhatsApp (optional), subject and message, used only to reply to you. Legal basis: fulfilling your request.
  • Visit statistics: with your permission, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure page views, where visits come from, country and type of device. Without your permission, it is not even loaded. Legal basis: consent.
  • Clicks on the main buttons: without cookies and without anything that identifies you, we record clicks such as “download the PDF” or “buy on Amazon”, with date, button, page, language and the website the visit came from. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the websites are used.

Where the data is kept

Form data is saved in a Google spreadsheet (Google Workspace) through Google Apps Script, and e-mails are sent from the author’s Google account. Statistics are kept in Google Analytics, and the websites are on a web hosting provider. Google may process data outside Brazil and the European Union, with the contractual safeguards it offers for international transfers.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or share your data for commercial purposes. It is only processed by the services mentioned above, acting on our behalf, and may be disclosed to authorities when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Book requests and contacts: while they are useful for their purpose or until you ask for deletion. News: until you unsubscribe. Google Analytics: 14 months. Button clicks: up to 5 years, without identification. Download links expire after 24 hours.

Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) are only stored after you accept them in the notice. They last up to 2 years, and you can change your mind at any time under “Cookie preferences”, in the footer: if you decline, they are deleted. The websites also keep in your browser, without sending it to anyone, the language you chose and your answer to the cookie notice.

Your rights

Under the LGPD (art. 18) and the GDPR (arts. 15 to 22), you can ask for confirmation that we process your data, access to it, correction, anonymization, portability, deletion, information about sharing, withdrawal of consent and objection to processing. Just write using the form below. You can also lodge a complaint with Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or with the authority of your country in the European Union (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
